Plasma coagulation is a minimally invasive medical procedure that is mainly used in endoscopy for hemostasis and tissue ablation. In this procedure, a gas is passed through a probe and delivered to the target site via an endoscope. The gas is ionized by a high-frequency electric current, creating a plasma. This plasma transfers the energy to the tissue, resulting in coagulation (clotting) or ablation (removal) of the tissue. Plasma coagulation enables targeted treatment of tissue without damaging surrounding structures and offers an effective method of hemostasis and removal of unwanted tissue.
